Salwar Kameez Suits

When it comes to clothing for women, there is nothing as versatile as a salwar kameez. It's ideal for every occasion and every body type.

Historically, the salwar kameez was believed to be introduced by the Mughals in the 13th century in the Indian sub-continent, with a strong influence in the northern region. Both men and women donned beautiful and expensive salwar kameez made from the finest fabrics like muslins, silks, velvets and brocades, and adorned themselves with heavy jewellery.

The Anarkali suit, a richly embroidered flared out kameez with loose pants, became the most popular style of Salwar Kameez and was worn by both men and women of the Royal Mughal families, because of their strong Persian influence. Anarkali suits became synonymous with richness and grandeur.

Gradually, a more comfortable style of salwar kameez, also known as known a Punjabi Suit which was a combination of a tunic top and loose pants, became the traditional dress of Punjab. Today, women from all walks of life and culture wear different variations of salwar kameez.

Today, different styles and designs are inspired by Punjabi suits and are worn on any occasion as it can be easy to carry and look elegant too. There are several styles of Salwar Kameez worn by the women in India, such as, Anarkali Suits, Patiala suit, Palazzo suit, Harem Salwars and more.

Let’s check out the style that suits you…!
